Aram Chobanian (born 1929 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island) was the ninth president of Boston University, from 2003 until 2005.
Chobanian, a cardiologist, holds a BA from Brown University and an MD from Harvard Medical School. Before accepting the president’s position in 2003, he was the dean of the Boston University School of Medicine.
Chobanian is the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Hypertension of the American Heart Association.
